How to Have a Blast at Home this Summer with Your Little One!
•Posted on July 14 2020
Wow! Summer is here already. I don’t know about you, but for us it’s felt like 2020 has whipped by so fast already. We’re getting whiplash over here!
But still, it’s nice that summer has arrived. Personally, it’s my favorite time of year, even if the beaches and the parks are a bit less available lately. It just means that we have to get a little extra creative.
Although all of our babies are grown here at Tesa Babe, we started thinking about what all of you lovely people will be doing this summer with your little ones. We asked some of you for some tips and this is what you came up with!
Put a kiddie pool in the backyard
While pools and beaches may not be the safest places to play, a kiddie pool in the backyard is another matter. Fill one up and watch your little one splash around. This is your summer too, so don’t deprive yourself of some cool water and fun with baby. Jump right in and splash around with your little bundle of joy.
Play with ice
Babies love playing with ice! This activity is great for baby sensory experiences. The cold temperature is startling but exciting, and the slippery surface makes it fun for babies to try to grab a hold of. Plus, it’s a great way to cool down in the heat.
“Car wash”
Grab a tub, fill it with water and suds, and dump some toy cars in. Your baby will have a blast at the “car wash”!
Indoor reading
If it’s getting a bit too hot outside, have a nice lounge on the couch with the air conditioner blowing and read to your baby.
Ball pit
You can also bring the party indoors by using the kiddie pool as a ball pit inside your house.
Finger painting
Round up some taste-safe finger paints and let your baby create their very own masterpiece! You’ll definitely want to do this one outside.
Foam party
Grab some soap (preferably ouch-free soap for eye safety), some water, some food coloring and mix this combo either in the blender or with an electric mixer. This colorful foam is a sensory blast for baby!
Treat you and your baby to ice cream
What’s better than ice cream on a hot day? Very little, I’d say. Go ahead, treat yourself (and your little one) to a nice cold bowl of ice cream.
Blow bubbles
Simple and fun, blowing bubbles is always a crowd pleaser with babies. Plus, it’s an excellent activity to keep baby entertained while enjoying the backyard and relaxing.

Stay safe and have a blast everyone!
